See your survival patterns as allies!

Jan 11, 2021

Here's something to consider.

Your survival patterns are your allies. They serve a purpose and provide protection.

The question to ask yourself is, is their protection still needed or is the war over and can they go home?

The thing I see the most is that we tend to want to "fight" our survival patterns. When they arise we try to manipulate them, influence them and make them go away.

However, here's the thing...these patterns we're stuck in once might have, and may even still, serve a purpose.

There's a belief in our physiology that this purpose still needs to be lived out. This is trauma.

We can't "fix" our trauma - our incomplete survival responses, by manipulating them or trying to force them to do something different. You have to move through the incomplete responses. There also needs to be a realization that we're no longer in danger at a nervous system level for things to organically shift and for real change to happen.

So, I invite you to watch this video to gain a few tips and tools on how to support your survival patterns from a different perspective. The more you can see them and support them as your allies instead of fight with them while they do the job that they think they need to do, the more likely that they'll start to recognize that the war is over and that their job is done.

I've seen this approach support a ton of people that I work with in helping them shift out of their survival responses and heal their trauma.

Do some exploring around this and let me know where it takes you!

This is a big topic and the exploration is endless. Don't worry. I'll be providing you more and more tips, tools and insights on how to work with these pieces!

Now go get curious!
